At the JEP Bobbi Lewis Hebrew School, we are dedicated to engaging our students in a positive Jewish learning experience. As we impart Jewish knowledge and inspire Jewish identity, our students develop a love of their Jewish heritage and a strong, personal sense of pride and purpose.
The JEP Hebrew School was established in 1985 with the philosophy that every Jewish child is entitled to a Jewish education. We are fortunate to have Mr. Barry Lewis as a close friend of our organization. He is someone who recognizes the vital link between Jewish education and the survival of the Jewish People and in 2003, he graciously dedicated the Bobbi Lewis Hebrew School in the eternal memory of his late wife.
Our students are instilled with Jewish pride. They are given the opportunity to explore and identify with the practices and traditions of Judaism and Jewish values. They are taught Jewish concepts, holidays, mitzvot, Biblical history, the Hebrew language and about the land of Israel, introduced to synagogue prayer and a relationship with G-d. Bar and Bat Mitzvah education is integrated in our curriculum and this special occasion is infused with joy and meaning.
Our dynamic staff creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere in which children are excited to learn! Whether teaching Hebrew reading, holidays, history or values, our lessons are always interactive, relevant, and stimulating. Musical activities, crafts, drama, field trips, and classroom incentives enhance the curriculum throughout the year.
Students experience the joys of Jewish life through Shabbatonim and holiday celebrations. Hands-on monthly mitzvah projects imbue our students with values such as tzedakah, social responsibility, leadership, and volunteerism. And our year-round fun trips and social events nurture feelings of friendship and a sense of belonging to the Jewish people.
We provide opportunities for the rest of our students’ families as well, with adult learning, teen social action projects and family activities throughout the year.
JEP Bobbi Lewis Hebrew School welcomes all Jewish children, regardless of affiliation, level of observance, or financial abilities. Tuition is reasonable, scholarships are available, and no synagogue affiliation or membership fees are required. Our mission is to ensure that a Jewish education is accessible to all Jewish children.
